We kindly ask that you refrain from entering other spaces upstairs other than your unit. There are businesses and residents that share the building and we believe in the utmost respect of their spaces.

Good to know

This is a sunny and cozy one-bedroom apartment with a stylish and updated kitchen in a vintage style. A luxurious bathroom with high-end tile and linens. Enjoy the record player, wi-fi and smart tv in your downtime, plus the night life downstairs if you want to step out. Private keyed entrance. The apartment is above the Friendly Music Community which does play music throughout the day, and often has live music in the evenings. If you’re traveling with little ones, or need absolute quiet to sleep…this might not be the best location for you. Many of guests say the noise is not a problem for them, but we just want to ensure you are aware of the space that you are booking.

Great place to stay for walking distance for food and entertainment. The apartment is very private and peaceful and on the second floor with one flight of stairs to go up. It's secured with the downstairs outside door locked along with your apartment door. We loved the coffee shop and bar downstairs with the free live bands.

Rob & Lacy’s Songbird Suite definitely exceeded my expectations - it was perfect for me! Great location for my needs, coffee downstairs in the morning, drinks in the bar at night, the friendliest people I’ve ever met. The artistic, music-themed decor suited me to a “T.” From the moment I arrived I was welcomed like a friend, and by the time I left I was sad to leave my “Friendly Community.” Prospective renters should be aware that there are formidable stairs to reach the apartment. Also, there IS traffic noise from the busy road, but that did not bother me, although it might not suit some people. As an older woman traveling alone, I always felt completely safe, even walking in the neighborhood. All in all, I could not have found a better place to stay during my visit to the Chicago area. Because of its proximity to my son’s apartment, I can’t imagine staying anywhere else and I can’t wait to stay with Rob and Lacy again!

I had a really good stay at the Songbird Suite. I came in expecting to have a noisy apartment, far away from downtown, as the trade off for having a relatively affordable unit with no roommates. But to my surprise, I actually almost never dealt with the noise that the description warns about. I did come in the summer, so perhaps the bar downstairs is busier during other times of the year. But I only heard noise coming from it twice, well before sleeping hours, and even then it was faint. Everything else was really good and the apartment was very clean when I arrived, with a fun yet homey feel. The one issue I had was the AC was broken when I arrived, but Lacy and Rob got it looked at and fixed in two days. I honestly think the whole situation is a testament to them being very diligent. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

My husband and I attended some shows at Fitzgerald's and staying here was so convenient, only 2 blocks away. The Songbird apartment was super cute, clean and the owners were great. They were quick to respond to any messages and provided recommendations to some great restaurants. The Friendly community was also great with live music in both the Friendly bar and Coffee shop. We felt very welcome and the staff was very "friendly". We will definitely stay here again and can't wait to have a reason to come back.

I absolutely loved this stay! The place was very clean and matched the descriptions perfectly, and communication with the host was excellent as well! Would love to come back and stay at this location once again.

Lacy was very helpful with my checking and checkout, this apt is outside from downtown but u got several options to get in there, lacy was very friendly and always answered my doubts. If I’ve got the opportunity to get back to Chicago, I’m gonna booked the songbird apt. Thanks for all.
